Back Pain and Its Remedies
Back pain is quite a common phenomenon and generally occurs due to wrong posture or sudden movements. Each one of us is prone to back pain since the lower portion of our back supports a large portion of our body weight. The stability and the fitness of the lower back is dependant on the strength and the position of our vertebral bodies and the inter-vertebral disks. Back pain is often a short-term phenomenon and can be rectified by exercises or painkillers. However, back pains can also become chronic and recur by even a small movement. Back Pain is generally not associated with an injury or illness and may even go away without any medication. Painkillers, such as Aspirin, Ibuprofen...

Chronic Pain Management
From over-the-counter and prescription drugs to mind-body techniques to acupuncture, chronic pain can be treated in many ways. However, no single method can guarantee you total pain relief. Rather, a combination of options may help you get rid of the pain. Mild pain may be relieved by over-the-counter medications like acetaminophen or non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). Although both relieve pain caused by muscle aches and stiffness, only NSAIDs can reduce inflammation. Lotions or creams can also be applied to the skin in order to relieve pain from sore muscles and arthritis. If over-the-counter drugs fail to bring relief, your doctor may prescribe stronger medications like...

People Ask Which is the Best Natural Pain Remedy?
If one searches the web looking for the right natural pain relief, it is likely to get a bit confusing as there are about 2,630,000 web pages to chose from. When people search the web for products or services they seldom search all the pages to decide which they are going to use. With that many pages on natural pain relief they could spend a lifetime reading before deciding on the right one for them. Not all pain is the same and internal organ pain and external muscular or joint pain need different approaches. Internal organ pain needs a doctor's opinion to make quite sure that it isn't something serious like a cancer, which, in turn, would need a totally different treatment regimen. ...

The ABCs of Knee Pain

Knee pain and related knee problems are extremely common and can occur in people of all ages and health groups. The bones of the upper and lower leg meet in the knee. It is the part of our bodies that is responsible for allowing us to run, walk and jump. When bones meet as in the knee, it is called a joint. What helps joints move smoothly is a pliable substance called cartilage and elastic bands called ligaments. These body parts are subject to injury and disease because of the constant use and pressure they are under.

Knee pain is usually the result of disease or injury. The most common disease that affects the knee is arthritis. There are 100 or more varieties of arthritis that can affect the knee and other joints. There are other rheumatic diseases that can affect the knee and cause knee pain, such as gout and lupus.

Chondromalacia is another disease that can affect the knee. This is a disease that occurs most often in young adults. It is characterized by the softening of the articular cartilage of the kneecap. It usually occurs from overuse of muscles, injury to the muscle, tendon or joint, muscle weakness or misalignment of the patella. In Chondromalacia the knee cap rubs roughly across the lower end of the thigh bone instead of smoothly sliding over it. It usually occurs when a injury tears off a piece of the knee cap or bit of bone.

Meniscal injuries are also a form of knee pain. If the knee cap is rotated while bearing a lot of weight, the menisci can be damaged or injured. This usually happens in sports and can be the cause of considerable pain. A large tear in the mensci can leave it hanging on by a thread of cartilage.

Knee pain is also often the result of sprains or cruciate ligament injury. This is also most often caused by a sporting event or a trauma like an accident.

Knee pain is most often characterized by sufferers as a dull, aching pain around or under the knee cap. It usually gets worse with walking, running or climbing.

Fortunately, many knee injuries can be prevented. Wearing shoes that fit properly can help prevent some knee injuries. Many knee problems that are caused by flat feet can be prevented by wearing inserts in the shoe. Keeping weight down to a healthy level also can help prevent knee problems and injuries.

Knee pain can be treated in a variety of ways. Depending on the cause and severity of the condition the treatment can range to home treatments and over the counter medicines to surgery. PAINenz, a product by MedGen, is a roll-on topical analgesic containing capsaicin, a well known pain reliever.

Back pain, joint pain, knee pain, arthritis and a host of other pain ailments you never have to suffer again
"The smallest pain in our little finger gives us more concern than the destruction of millions of our fellow beings." William Hazlitt [1778-1830. British Essayist] If "The smallest pain in our little finger gives us more concern..." then what happens when we have back, knee or joint pain? Did you know that - 80% of Americans will battle with back pain at some point in their lives? - 7 million people are treated for back pain every year? - 2 million new cases of back pain are opened every year? - $100 billion is being spent annually in medical bills, disability and lost productivity at work? Pain and Pain Relief is of utmost concern for most of us that are in constant pain. Why are we in Pain? Before we can answer this question, we need to understand how the body interprets and handles pain. The pain impulse begins at the point of an injury for example a cut, burn, pinched nerve, bruised muscle etc. Once the impulse starts, it triggers a number of bio-chemicals to be released at the site of the injury. Some of these bio-chemicals are histamine, bradykinin, prostaglandin, and Substance P. Each of these has one or more effects on the body. And many of these bio-chemicals are inflammatory -- that is they cause the injury site to swell up. Inflammation is actually a defense mechanism for the body. Inflammation serves to bathe the injury in healing fluids and acts as a cushion to protect against further injury. However. if the inflammation is prolonged or out of control, it can cause destruction. This is what occurs in arthritis where the inflammation actually destroys the joints. Also, inflammation can serve to compound problems by actually causing pain itself. This explains how an injury causes the body to release a number of biochemicals that can cause...
